Helping women achieve holistic
hormonal balance,
one stride at a time

I work with women in perimenopause and beyond who want to lose stubborn weight, balance their hormones naturally, and gain their confidence back—WITHOUT giving up their favorite foods, tracking every bite, or spending hours at the gym.

Strength In Numbers

In the United States, an estimated 1.3 million women enter menopause each year, and around 90% experience symptoms. Experts say the natural biological process has been largely overlooked because women in midlife are historically underrepresented in medicine. Women approaching midlife have long been ignored or labeled as a whiner for complaining about perimenopause symptoms — many of which haven't been significantly researched and can be life-altering.

I am here to say "just deal with it" is not acceptable. Women deserve more and deserve to be heard.

What is Menopause and where am I on this Journey?

The inevitable menopausal transition that women experience can start as early as mid 30’s to early 40’s. As we age, women experience a complex interplay of physical and emotional factors brought on by hormonal fluctuations. These bothersome symptoms such as weight gain, trouble sleeping, brain fog, low libido, and hot flashes influence our quality of life and can last a decade or more.

01
Perimenopause

The transitional stage leading up to menopause, characterized by fluctuating hormone levels and irregular cycles. A variety of bothersome symptoms begin to appear at this stage. This phase can start as early as late 30’s to early 40’s and last 2-10 years.

02
Menopause

The medical community and most women refer to this entire process from Perimenopause through Post Menopause as the term 'menopause', but the technical meaning of ‘Menopause’ is the specific day when a woman has not had a period for 12-months.

03
Post Menopause

This refers to a woman who has not had a period for 12-months. Although many of the symptoms associated with perimenopause tend to subside, women need to be proactive about new health concerns like lower bone density and heart health.

You are Not Alone

While we are all wallowing through our symptoms and looking for answers online, we may be embarrassed to talk about our feelings and concerns. Women naturally seek guidance from the medical community that is often met by a lack of support. I have experienced this repeatedly. Many women are often told to “Just deal with it”. This approach and mentality aren't realistic options when you’re not feeling you’re best. You could bet that if men dealt with mood swings, hot flashes and insomnia it would be addressed much quicker and on a broader scale!

Hi, I’m Laurie. I’m a Menopause Health and Fitness Coach, Personal Trainer and Arthritis Fitness Specialist

I have been where you are...

My health journey has been long and arduous. At 16 I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, an Endocrine Disorder that made the years leading up to Perimenopause at 38 a roller coaster. Once I hit perimenopause PCOS bit me in the rear. More than a healthy share of stress exacerbated my condition and led to a host of health issues. At 48 I was a full year without a period and officially post-menopausal. A few years ago I was tired, burnt out and miserable from weight gain, fatigue and a short temper. I was also frustrated by the search for answers and lack of support from the medical community.

Fast forward I am now 55 years old and 7 years post-menopausal. I have lost 41 pounds over the last 2 years by advocating for proper care from the right practitioners, educating myself and making my health a priority.

I’m prepared through my education and life experiences to help women over 40 to navigate the hormonal highway with more energy, confidence and a good dose of laughter.
